But yes, the summer staple, the hot dog, is the subject of a contest run by Maple Leaf. Share your family favourite...win 25 grand.
All you need to do is submit your recipe, including a 'catchy' name, and step-by-step instructions, by August 8th.** 10 finalists will be chosen and flown to Toronto for a live cook-off on Saturday, August 27th during BuskerFest.
Your hot dog will be judged based on entry name, toppings used, overall quality, appearance, originality and lastly, taste. Maybe the sour pickle and spaghetti hot dog still has a chance. You could call 'Tartugetti O's'. Or not.
