Tick-tock, tick-tock, Quebec's debt clock increasing by $28 million/day

MONTREAL - The Montreal Economic Institute (MEI) has updated its Quebec Debt Clock in real time. For the 2012-2013 year, the clock will advance by $10.2 billion, the equivalent of $28 million a day, or $19,332 a minute. The revision came after the tabling of the budget.

Molson expands production capacity - opens new can line at brewery

MONTREAL - Molson Coors inaugurated a new can line at their Montreal brewery, part of a $52 million investment to expand can production capacity. This provides for the addition of a 355 ml and 473 ml can line, 250 ml can production capability, as well as modernization of two bottling and kegging lines. The largest investment by Molson Coors in its Canadian breweries in 2011, it was also the largest at the company's Montreal brewery in over 25 years.

Prime Minister, veterans Affairs minister, receive Vimy pin in preparation for Vimy Week

MONTREAL - Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Minister of Veterans Affairs Steven Blaney received a Vimy Pin from two Vimy Foundation alumni in preparation for the 95th Anniversary of Vimy Ridge Day, which will be commemorated on April 9th. Canadians are invited to participate in a variety of Vimy Week activities (April 1st to April 9th) and to learn more about their Canadian heritage.
