Mac App Store Coming January 6th

Apps will be available for Mac laptops and desktops

CALIFORNIA - On Thursday, January 6th, Apple is launching the Mac App Store. Your iMac or MacBook will now have their own App store, making the installation of applications a click away (not that they were ever difficult before).

Enter your iTunes password, and the app appears on your dock. Easy as 1...oh wait, no further steps necessary. Download, use. The apps can be used on all computers that you own. They can even be downloaded again. Buy a new Mac, add app. And just like the App Store for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod, the Mac App Store will keep track of updates for you.

As for pricing, expect them to be higher than what you pay on the iDevices (many apps may be in the $10-$30 range, but that is pure speculation). And what will be available? The screen grab above may give some idea, but we'll just have to wait until Thursday.
