Hop! Hop! Hop! Everybody hop with Bunny Bop!
CHARLOTTETOWN - Take a rabbit, a caterpillar, and a butterfly. Mix with toddlers in bunny suits. Add a garden. Let them play and explore for five minutes, and you have Bunny Bop!
Bunny Bop! A new web series made for the 5 and under crowd. The stars: Buddy Bunny and puppet pals, Posey the Caterpillar and Beep the Butterfly. The kids play in the garden and learn about shapes, counting, yoga, and a lot of other cool preschool stuff.
Created by Cheryl Wagner of The Big Comfy Couch (Lunette the Clown and her dolly, Molly), and filmed in Charlottetown, the show lets kids be kids. “We had to re-invent the whole shooting process, so the kids would forget about the cameras and play with wild abandon. It had to be absolutely fun for the kids involved,” said Wagner.
She also hopes the series goes global. The original BunnyBoppers (they even get a cute name) have friends and family around the world. Ms. Wagner even thinks the show is a great way to have young ones learn English as a second language.
