Just a highly imagined, and highly cliched, conversation. Reality is that the boys from Dublin are making an appearance in Moncton. Yes, they are.
They're coming on July 30th, for the first time in Atlantic Canada. It will be the last stop of their U2 360° North American tour, at the Magnetic Hill Music Festival, and quite the thrill for an area of Canada that doesn't see many international acts on this level.
"If you build it, they will come." Build a big stadium, and the next thing you know, the Rolling Stones are knocking at your door. Then The Eagles, Bon Jovi and AC/DC come over to play. Now U2.
They'll be sharing the stage with Montreal indie band Arcade Fire, and up-and-comers, Carney (they're the band in the Broadway play "Spiderman, Turn Off the Dark").
Tickets? U2.com subscribers will get first dibs; for the rest of the world, Tuesday, February 8th, at 10 am, through www.Ticketmaster.ca and www.Livenation.com, or charge by phone at 1-888-720-5600.
Going out on a limb here, but predicting tickets will be sold out by 10:14 am.
